PELATIHAN KREASI VLOG SEJARAH LOKAL: DALAM MENUMBUHKAN NASIONALISME SISWA PERBATASAN DI TEMAJUK MELALUI MEDIA DIGITAL

Abstract

This community service–based research aims to analyze the implementation of local history vlog training as a digital learning strategy to strengthen nationalism among border students in Temajuk, Sambas Regency. The program was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Paloh using an educational, participatory, and project-based learning approach that positioned students as active knowledge producers. Data were collected through direct observation, participant reflections, analysis of student vlog products, and evaluation instruments. The findings indicate that vlog-based learning significantly improves students’ understanding of local history, digital literacy skills, visual communication abilities, and awareness of national identity. Students demonstrated higher engagement, critical thinking in interpreting local historical sources, and creativity in constructing historical narratives through digital media. Furthermore, digital storytelling successfully bridged the gap between theoretical historical content and the contextual experiences of students living in border areas. The integration of local history with vlog production encouraged collaborative learning and fostered a sense of pride toward local cultural heritage. This study concludes that combining local historical content with digital storytelling practices can serve as an innovative pedagogical model for border education, contributing to the development of nationalist character, technological literacy, and youth participation in preserving cultural identity in the digital era.
